Our servers are located in Irving, Texas. Your data remains on our US servers while team members in India access the files remotely without actually transferring files to India. 128-bit encryption ensures your client data is 100% secure from your office to ours and back again.

Metis Online Vault – Workflow and Document Management System
The star of our service is the Metis Online Vault. This end-to-end interface is an advanced, web-based project and document management system. Documents and files you send us through the Metis Online Vault are accessed by the team in charge of your account. We then manage and process the project on our end and return the work to you within this same secure environment. Rigorous security rights ensure that your data is only accessible to those with permission to see it.
The Metis Online Vault is the central location where we handle workflow and data management.
- Online Workflow Management – Simply sign on to your account, fill out a standard online form to assign projects to us and upload your files. Your customized home page shows the status of all projects you’ve assigned to us, as well as project-related communications. The client interface is simple and easy to use! We are constantly making improvements, too. Soon we will be able to brand this system with your name, not ours, so that you can set up sub-accounts for your clients and integrate them into the system too… The possibilities are endless!
- Online Document Management – You are able to search for documents anytime through simple search queries. For example, say you need to see a bank statement for ABC Co. from a previous month. The online document management features of our system make this a breeze. Not just that, in the process of sending us client data for processing, you’re also achieving a paperless office – automatically! We even copy all of your scanned data to a CD and mail it to you on request so you can have this in physical form in your office for indefinite retention of client data. Metis Remote Desktop - Online Hosting of Accounting Files
The Metis Remote Desktop looks and functions just like any Windows-based computer.
The Metis Remote Desktop is a premium service that allows us to host your client accounting files (such as QuickBooks®, Peachtree®, etc.) on our system. This way, we can continuously update client books with the latest transaction information while you have 24/7 access to the files too. When signing on to the Metis Remote Desktop from any Internet-enabled computer, you see an ordinary Windows desktop and work on it as if you are on your own computer. Later, bring your clients online too so that they also can view their files at anytime in order to create invoices, print reports and perform other tasks.
Metis FTP Server - Quick and Easy File Transfers
The Metis FTP server is mainly used by clients signing up for the Basic plan to transfer files back and forth without incurring the higher charges of the Metis Online Vault. By placing a simple icon on your computer's desktop, you're able to drag and drop files onto our server for each transfer to our bookkeepers. Once a project is complete, we put the files back in your account for easy download back to your computer. While not as secure as the Metis Online Vault, the FTP server is a great way for us to process work for you if your bookkeeping needs are not great.
Furthermore, clients using the Standard and Premium plans can also request extra FTP accounts to their clients in order to facilitate the transfer of files with them.
Online Meeting Service - Remote One-On-One Support
We use an amazing service to provide one-on-one remote support through www.gotomeeting.com. Simply connect to the Internet and input a simple meeting ID number (which we will provide to you before the meeting) into the meeting input box on our web site. Within a few moments, you will see the screen of our team member providing the support. We can then provide support to you in real time while you and the team member talk by phone and view the same computer screen (either ours or yours). Additional invitees can also join the same meeting and this is how we provide training when you first sign up with us.
